Firstly, this trip felt surreal, out of a movie. All credit to Marvels of Africa for organising it so well taking into consideration our needs and requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Wild Hearts of Kenya Safari can be enjoyed year-round. However, the dry seasons from June to October and January to March are ideal for game viewing, as animals gather around water sources and vegetation is sparse, making sightings easier. If you prefer fewer crowds and greener landscapes, the shoulder months (November and April–May) are equally rewarding, offering lush scenery and excellent birdwatching opportunities around Lake Naivasha.
Yes! This safari is perfect for families and small groups. The itinerary combines short travel distances and varied activities that keep everyone engaged — from boat rides on Lake Naivasha to exciting game drives in the Masai Mara. Family-friendly lodges and camps offer spacious rooms, swimming pools, and flexible meal options, ensuring a comfortable experience for travelers of all ages.
You can look forward to a delicious mix of local African flavours and international cuisine throughout your safari. Most lodges and camps serve buffet-style meals, but depending on the number of guests and occupancy, they may also offer a set menu with freshly prepared dishes by the chef. Expect hearty breakfasts with fruits, cereals, eggs, and baked goods, followed by flavourful lunches and three-course dinners under the stars. On full-day game drives, lodges often provide packed lunches, which are convenient but come with limited options — typically sandwiches, fruits, snacks, and juice. Special dietary requests — including vegetarian, vegan, Indian, halal, or gluten-free meals — can usually be arranged with prior notice. In general, the better the lodge, the more elaborate and refined the dining experience, often featuring gourmet presentations, fine wines, and personalised service.
That’s one of the most common questions — and a very valid one! While on game drives inside Masai Mara, there are no permanent restroom facilities in most parts of the reserve, as it’s a protected wilderness area. However, your guide will plan comfort breaks at designated safe spots, often behind the vehicle or at ranger stations and picnic sites where possible. Morning and afternoon drives are usually timed around lodge stops, so you can use restrooms before and after. On full-day safaris, your guide will advise where to stop for lunch and restroom use. If you’re ever unsure, just let your guide know — they’re very experienced in managing these situations discreetly and safely.
A full day begins early with a sunrise game drive in the Masai Mara, when wildlife is most active. You might spot lions returning from the hunt, elephants moving in herds, or giraffes browsing the acacia trees. Enjoy a picnic breakfast in a scenic location before returning to your lodge for relaxation and a hot lunch. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive across the golden plains, soaking in the dramatic landscapes and searching for more wildlife sightings. As the sun sets, you’ll return to camp for a delicious dinner and unwind around the campfire beneath the stars — the perfect end to a day in Kenya’s wild heart.
